Hippie Girl didn’t reply but sat there as if trying to think. Jioni mirrored her behavior and started to fiddle with her thumbs. The wind intensely ripped through their clothing. It caused Jioni to readjust her hair often. She tried, but Jioni had exhausted every idea up to this point and felt exhausted herself. She sat there with her arms folded.
The silence continued until Hippie Girl spoke. She inched closer with a suspicious smile.
“You know the building across from the park?”Hippie Girl said with a raised eyebrow.
“Um, yeah, the red one?”
“No, no. The one next to it with all the caution tape.” Hippie Girl stood up. “There’s like ancient tech there—all free and abandoned.”
Jioni had a blank stare. She leaned back in her chair as Hippie Girl continued to speak.
“It’s the room with the open door—can’t miss it. Then you can bring back things for both of us,” Hippie Girl said, then she nudged Jioni’s shoulder.
