Damaged: 3-12

Jioni aimlessly swung her weapon: she hit its body, shoulder, and arms. Eventually, she hit the head of the Tenebris. It screeched, flying back. Kathy was free and she fought alongside her.

Jioni was puzzled as she questioned if the Tenebris was truly gone. The one she hit disappeared; its eyes—that looked more like jewels—appeared to knock out of its crown and hit the floor. The Tenebris turned to vapor.

“Break the window,” Jioni called out. Her voice shook with rasped breaths. “Go!”

Kathy rubbed her sore arm and then grabbed a chair; she chucked it at the window, and it chipped.

Jioni fought the monsters and only checked back occasionally. And each time she checked, Kathy made little to no progress with the window. Every bone ached as Jioni swung again and again, the same repetitive motion to deter the Tenebris: they drew in closer and closer.
