Damaged: 3-31

Jioni returned to her hammock and sat on it briefly before lying down. Her new heavy, firm, chipped arm made resting uncomfortable as she lay on her side. On top of that, her cheek was also rough when she attempted to use her hands as a pillow. Frustrated, she flipped over to her right.

“Tomorrow is a fresh start. I believe it’ll be better,” Jioni said to herself as she drifted asleep.

It was too painful to know everything she had lost in a matter of hours—as much as she wanted the brochure for herself—the only option now was to get it back so she could sell it. The idea caused her to toss and turn, but there was no choice: she needed to find and sell the brochure.

At least in sleep, she could take a temporary break from reality.  She yawned and then shut her eyes—there were only two days—a mere forty-eight hours to find something valuable that could be used as payment.
