“You’re wearing that ugly flannel! Ha!” Hippie Girl blurted out, then laughed. “Did the deer spirit bite your skull or something? You were just trying to sell that thing yesterday.”
Jioni rolled her eyes and waited for Hippie Girl to stop talking. She folded her arms with a frown. Then scooted back against the van curtains with nowhere else to go. The two remained face to face, almost inches apart. Hippie Girl’s smug smile made Jioni’s brows lower, and she pushed her back.
“Yesterday, I almost died,” Jioni snapped. “I went to the fifth floor—like you told me, and there was nothing there, just Tenebris.”
