The Luxurious Life: 6-15

The new violin: expensive, beautiful, and everything she had ever dreamed of—yet she never used it—Its silence called out for LaMesha, begging to be played, wanting to be heard, but the call to sleep rang louder. Arms too sore from swinging the stop sign, she wished her arms were swinging the violin bow instead. LaMesha managed to get the zipper down and pulled the vest off. As she did, she threw the coat on top of the violin so it wouldn’t taunt her anymore. The Geogen logo from her vest now replaced the view of the instrument. LaMesha’s heart sank; she fought so hard to fund a lifestyle she couldn’t even enjoy; with dull eyes, she rested her head on her pillow and let sleep finally consume the only free time she had left for the day.
