Bree walked over to the big screen. With a few swipes and button pushes, the video was downloaded to her GeoDevice. She brought the footage closer and pressed play—Bree looked at Skylar but listened to the video.
Skylar’s expression was blank, almost as if she was restraining her emotions.
Bree raised a brow.
“A kid is leaving City Two and thinks they can get into Outergen. And?” Skylar replied.
“And,” Bree mimicked. “And it means that Tracey put this girl in the Trials—illegally. Then instructed the kid on how to enter Outergen—illegally. This is perfect!”
Skylar looked around. “And why is this perfect? What about the kid?”
“It is a nonissue—the kid would not make it far.”
Skylar blinked.
“But nonetheless, I will approve the Agents who sent the video to become bounty hunters regardless,” Bree said. “But Tracey, Tracey here. This is perfect because this is the leverage I need to decommission her as mayor. I will run City One and Two—under such pressure—I will demonstrate to those geriatrics in the Coterie that I am competent, I am not irrational, and I am not stupid. So come on!”
