Tracey stood from afar but made slow movements toward the desk. Hesitant but curious, she spoke up, “Found something you were looking for?”
Bree looked up at her holding the Agent Trials remote. She shook it in her hand with a smile.
Tracey paused—she couldn’t hide her stunned face. Eyes widened as she stepped back; her heart started to beat out of her chest; she tried to speak, but it was briefly incoherent. She could only look at Bree’s demented smile and smile back with a crooked, uneasy look.
“Strong reaction to what is simply a remote—check the data on it,” Bree said as she tossed it over to Skylar without looking. Fumbling, he caught it. “City Two used to be a powerhouse for many talented Agents—the decline recently, well, it is quite sad.”
