No one responded.
“You are Tracey’s secretary, yes?” Bree said. Her speech was inconsistent and energetic. “Well, the good news is Tracey decided she is retiring as mayor today—and now I am the new mayor of City Two—let us celebrate in my new office.”
The secretary said nothing: Frozen, the papers fumbled out of his hands and floated down to the floor.
