DaMarko took the ID card from LaMesha and began analyzing it.
“I have Agents looking for her outside—to clarify, this bounty is only applicable if she leaves the city,” Tracey said, arms still folded. “And trust me, you better find her here and not out there.”
“But wait,” LaMesha said. “I don’t recall petitioning for some bounty-hunting mission. This is my first time hearing about this.”
“Well, I didn’t petition us up for that—who reported the kid, then decided we were the ones to hunt her down?” DaMarko chimed in.
The room fell silent. Even Tracey tilted her head in confusion. But all eyes eventually turned to Jolene, who was smiling confidently.
