“So, before I graduate, I thought it’d be cool if we got to hang out some more as future coworkers,” Jolene put her hand over her mouth and giggled. “Or even friends, wanna hang out?”

“No. Not really.”

LaMesha’s eyes pierced through Jolene, and in turn, Jolene’s eyes fell to the floor. Through LaMesha’s poison-tipped gaze she internally displayed a shocked one. Why would Jolene want to hang out with her? Probably for some ulterior motive, far fetched but plausible. LaMesha crossed her arms.

“By the way, have you seen Brandon? He’s 45 seconds behind schedule, and I’m concerned,” Jolene said.

LaMesha blinked once, appearing to think. She looked away, Not saying anything at first, but only nodded once. “I saw him walking with Kathy—they went to the park. Jioni said she was going there too.”
