Jioni waved the flashlight around the room—none of the old-timey technology or ancient high-tech equipment was there: what sat was empty desks, loose cords attached to nothing, and puddles of water placed sporadically. She paced the room, waving the light anywhere, and hoped to find anything: there was nothing.

“Here’s my surprised face,” Jioni said. She kicked the loose wires around as she paced. “You’re right. Hippie Girl is just a liar.”

Jioni looked to where Kathy did to see the Tenebris enter through the wall—phasing inside like nothing was blocking it—then another one started peaking through, then three and four.
