A gasp escaped Hippie Girl’s lips, and then her eyes widened. But quickly, she disguised her shock with a discomforted smile. She shook her hair with both hands, hunched over, and then folded her palms—she infringed on Jioni’s personal space again.

“No, it’s there. You weren’t looking hard enough,” Hippie Girl said.

“What do you even mean by that?” Jioni threw her hands up.

Her face contorted in disgust at the blatant lie. Every inch of that room was searched. She slowly pushed away Hippie Girl’s forehead and claimed her personal space back. Jioni took a deep breath, but couldn’t control the long groan that followed soon after.
