Jioni’s blink exuded disinterest. She put the sticker on her palm.
Hippie Girl paused and stared at it before she snatched the sticker from Jioni and then analyzed it further. With the design up close—her eyes soon lit up. She squealed in excitement as her face turned red; her smile was wide—really wide, she didn’t blink.
“Did this sticker come from Emmitt?” Hippie Girl asked in a high squeal.
“Yes,” Jioni said as she reached for it.
Hippie Girl held her arm back and prevented Jioni from taking it. She twisted and contorted in different directions to avoid Jioni’s grasp and almost fell off the bed then nearly knocked over the teapot.
“Were you at the clinic? Did he mention me while you were there? Can I keep the sticker?” Hippie Girl asked in a single breath.
“Yes, no. Give me my sticker back.”
She reached over again, but Hippie Girl blocked her with her hand. She then placed the sticker far out of reach from Jioni.
