Hippie Girl rose into a smile. “A-and I’m sorry you had to see me like this. I swear I’m not crazy—I can tell you think I’m crazy by how you stare at me, butterfly.”

“I don’t think you’re crazy,” Jioni said. 

Hippie Girl choked a teared laugh. “Really? Well, thanks. In a world full of honest jerks, it’s nice to know kind liars still exist.”

Jioni chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of her neck; she avoided Hippie Girl’s smile, then tried to figure out what she even meant by that. It had to be more of her crazy babbling.
